Operation on Monday on teeth

Post by amanda2001 »

My 18 month old maine coon mix last night went into next door neighbours cat flat, it locked behind him and he got stuck. Furball Max panicked of course and fought his way back out, damaging his small bottom front teeth as he went. So 5 little teeth, instead of sitting upwards, are sitting flat in his mouth. He is going into vets on Monday to have them surgically removed and for an x-ray to make sure he hasn't done any more damage. He seems fine in himself, is still eating and playing. Has anyone else's cat done this? Vet said that if they can't fix he may have to be referred to specialist. We didn't know at the time of visit to vet what he had done and only subsequently discovered his noctural visit next door. So I know he hasn't been hit by a car (which was first suspected) Vet said his jaw all looks fine, but will only tell with xray. I'm hoping it is no more than removing the teeth.

I've taken on all sorts of cats with various teeth problems, all of which were fixed without issue, though I've not had this happen exactly. Hope that helps.
