Introducing a Kitten
Introducing a Kitten
I would REALLY appreciate some advice. I have a two year old male cat who is usually so loving and friendly. I recently got a 3 month old female and he is constantly attacking her. I have followed all the introduction procedure but he does not seem to be coming around to her. I have been giving him loads of extra attention in order to reassure him that he is still 'the man of the house'. Am I doing the wrong thing? What else can I do? Thank you.
Re: Introducing a Kitten
Hi, introducing a new kitten can be a bit of a shock to older cats, who prefer some peace and quiet and enjoy their unchallenged position in the household. Try following the advice in these links, which may help.

Make sure your older cats have somewhere (high up if they're still mobile enough) where they can get away from little kitty for some peace and quiet, and make sure you give them plenty of reassurance and the quality one to one time that they usually get.
