Hi there
My family adopted a 5 year old female cat from the blue cross about 4 months ago, who they had found as a stray. However we believe she was probably not a stray for long as it seems like she's had a home/been around humans before. When we adopted her they said that the vet had examined her and she had a faint scar that looked as if she had been spayed. However they couldn't say 100% that she had been. They told us that if she displayed behaviours that seemed like she was in heat to bring her back to get spayed, and said it would be fairly obvious. Shes displayed a couple of behaviours that could be indicative of being in heat over the last month or so (putting tail to one side, low pitched meowing) but it hasn't been obvious or repetitive so we don't really know. Now she looks a bit like shes gaining weight, and has a rather saggy tummy - we're not sure if she is just getting fed a bit too much (although we are sticking to recommendations!) or if it could be possible she is pregnant? I have owned cats before, but not for a long time, and never had any experience of breeding so obviously am unsure. Have googled and had a look at her nipples (she's quite fluffy though so its difficult to see!) - i'm not sure if they look normal or if they are a bit enlarged! I would really appreciate if anyone who has experience of cats and breeding could take a look at some photos and tell me what they think!!!!
Thanks,
Katy

I'd take her to the vets to check, I'm assuming she has been going outside?

Re: Could my cat be pregnant?
If she's been displaying the signs of 'calling' and she's been outside, chances are she could be 'up the duffers'. Have you noticed any toms taking up residence in the garden? Not all owners are as diligent in having males neutered unfortunately.
Best get her to the vet who'll be able to tell you one way or another.
Good luck.
