Multi-cat to single cat household
Multi-cat to single cat household
I have a year old cat that originally lived just with me but has been staying with me at my mom's with four other cats one of which is a kitten that my cat is best friends with. I'm moving out and trying to decide if I should take her with me or if it will affect her negatively moving back into a single cat household. Thank you for any help with this!

Hi Aydavi and welcome
If your cat's been used to living alone with you, and used to your routine etc, I can't see any difficulty; they are very adaptable and despite the traditional belief I do feel that cats are more attached to people than places, but you might find she needs a bit more affection/attention at first without her companions; if you're working/studying full time you could find yourself coming home to a cat who demands a lot of quality time before she gets used to the usual routine. She might be a bit clingy, follow you about, mew a lot, need you to herself - though don't they usually lol.
Do hope the new arrangement works out and all the best to you and your girl for the future

I agree with the others, I would certainly try to move her with me and just make sure she got plenty of my attention. Good luck!
