I'm wondering if her throat is sore, she's still a bit throaty. She's had metacam as well as the painkiller today, see if it makes a difference. She enjoyed lying on the bed with me this morning :D

I'm not sure if Metacam can help in sore throat cases.
The only two times one of my cats had bad throat the vet gave them an antibiotic and told me to feed baby food to them, because it is soft and tasty.

Not a Normal one, but hers will be because of the breathing tube, so it may help. She's a funny thing, let her come in the front room earlier, she was really unsettled and took herself in the kitchen and on the freezer!

How's Lucy today?
Is she feeling better? You might want to express your concerns to the vet.

She seems a lot happier this morning, she has eaten all her breakfast - she normally gets wet, but that's what she is ignoring, so gave her biscuits, which she has eaten. Given her some salmon, which is being ignored. She's had the last of the vetergesic this morning, so will give her metacam tonight, didn't think I'd get any meds into her, but being confined to one room is helping a lot :D

I think that cats are so smart to understand when it's time to co-operate for their own sake :D
Good to read that Lucy has a more positive mood this morning.

Glad to hear Lucy seems happier today :) I can’t see the photo though. When I upload photos I click on “add files” below the message box, then my files appear, I click on the one I want to upload then click on “place inline” and submit.

The ones on my phone are too big, so I tried photo bucket - I've just been given some advice about an app, see if this works - this is when she came home, I'll do some others later

Her face says it all
The scar is very clean and neat, I wouldn't worry about it.
How's Lucy today? Is she still happy?

I think she is feeling better - she is crying to get out of the kitchen. She is still a bit picky with food

Gorgeous girl - and agree, very neat scar. going to be tough keeping her confined as she feels better - don't envy you that.

Fusses

She has a check up tomorrow, hopefully the vet will say she doesn't need room rest. She did try jumping on the sofa last night. The upside is she is happy sitting on my knee more

Aww bless her. Sounds like she’s doing really well and the scar looks to be healing nicely. Hope the vet is pleased with her tomorrow.

Sounds like she recovered quickly, very good!
Wait until her next visit before giving her more room. Hopefully it's just a matter of days .

Well, she had a check up this morning, vet is happy with her, although unfortunately she has now put weight on, and weighs more than before the op, so back on the diet!! She wants her walking more, but not jumping, so she will have to stay in the kitchen while I'm at work, and restricted access when I'm home. She did say that the fact she has been jumping on/off things means she feels comfortable (last night she got on the cabinet you can see at the side of the freezer, and as soon as I walked in, she jumped off - I had barely processed where she was!!), although she'd rather she didn't due to the compression I think she said. She says it's roughly a 12 week recovery process, but is happy not to see her again for 2 weeks.

Good to hear the vet was pleased with her :) It sounds like humans when they have joint surgery, they get them mobile pretty quick, but not too active, hopefully she won’t jump up too much whilst you’re out.

I've rearranged the kitchen, she shouldn't be able to get on the cabinet, and it may have put her off the freezer

It might be that she feels so happy not to feel any pain anymore that she can't keep herself from jumping and running because it is something that she was craving for for so long and now she can do it again :)

The pain has never stopped her jumping and running.

Lucy is clearly feeling better, she got half way up the stairs yesterday - I caught her on the first one, but she hissed and ran up the stairs to get away from me!! I let her in the front room this morning for the first time, fortunately she was happy to sit on my knee, but there was lots of hissing and growling when I went to put her back!! The upside of this is she has never sat on my knee so much, wonder if that will continue!!

Had a nightmare with her yesterday, she got past me on the stairs, got all the way up them this time, got in the bedroom and under the bed - to do that, she has to lie flat, and splay her back legs out. I felt sick in case she had set her recovery back and unfortunately the gap is too small for me to get her back out. I left her for 10 mins and when I went back up she was on the bed under the duvet, which I discovered when the quilt growled at me! She was very growly so I put her on the heated bed. This morning she seems back to normal
