Each night if my cat sees another cat/fox in the garden he will spin off the window sill and attack the feet or actually front up to whoever is nearest him which is pretty scary as he's a big cat.
It's usually my husband whom he attacks and he is getting near to the end of his tether with him. The only thing I could do is stop him looking out of the window, anyone any other ideas?

How old is your cat?
I believe your cat is frustraded by seeing preys and wants to play or attack.
How often do you play with your cat? Really play, i mean? Make him chase something with feathers for instance. Cats have lot of energy and wide awake at night, that's when they hunt, they are predators. Sleep a lot during day but at night they are alive...
Has he got access outside? Do you walk him on a leash?
When kitties, they tend to attack feet, so it's perfectly normal... they want to play.
My guess is you should try to play with some strings or other cat toys to break his energy... real play, interaction. Let me know if it worked!
