Firstly, what fab news that after 2 years your boy is back home - you must be so happy!
I would suspect that if he's been hanging about the RSPB place for the last year he's been living off lots of wildlife (the RSPB must be pleased he's back home with you!

) and that the commercial food he's being fed now is just too rich for him. A change of diet for many cats is a delicate thing to do, but going from pure 100% raw natural foods to very processed commercial foods (both dry and wet) that contain sugars and cereals and not much meat must be a shock to the system; hence the diarrhoea.
It will be expensive to start, but get some really high quality foods, ie high meat content, such as Thrive and see how he does on that. Then gradually if you want to move him onto what he's being fed now, but it will have to be a very gradual process.
Or what about trying him on a raw food diet? He may take to that and it would be the most natural food for him.
Fusses to your boy and please do let us know how he's getting on
