Hi there my cat has recently had kittens but we also adopted 2 into the litter from my mother's cat as she abandoned them. These kitties were outside and were riddled with fleas all the kittens got them but were managed to be treated successfully when they were of age. It's been nearly 2 months now and I have treated my cat 2 times with flea treatment and worming. She has started to put the weight back on but she has started to lose hair all round her back end and up the base of her tail and her back. I've tried treating her with flea shampoo as I don't want to cover her in unnecessary chemicals. I have been using coconut oil and its seems to have soothed the irritation as I haven't seen her scratching half as much but she is still going bald :/ any ideas? X

Have you had her neutered yet?

I used to breed Siamese and this happened with my first girl after the fourth litter; a friend thought the hair loss might be hormonal although some cats can have allergic reactions to flea remedies.

Her last litter was wonky and I was NOT going to put her through that again; she was my darling and I didn't care if she produced kittens or not; I wasn't that dedicated to breeding. So I got her spayed. The unsightly baldness cleared up and never returned for the rest of her life

If your girl's not spayed yet, that might be a good idea; what does your vet think?
