Once your kitten has had their first two vaccinations and then the booster one at 12months. Do you continue to have the yearly booster ones that the vet recommends. This is for an outdoor cat.

Yes, I foster cats so it is mandatory.

If you want to keep them protected then they should be vaccinated every 12 months, although to be honest an extra month or two over wouldn't hurt, mine frequently go 13 months between boosters, and I once heard someone say that the boosters were actually good for 18 months but the manufactures wouldn't guarantee that long, I'm not sure I would want risk it though.

Keep in mind that, if you ever need to board your cat in a cattery, you will need an up-to-date vaccination certificate.

Two different vets (one of them is a well known specialist in infectious diseases) told me that after the three or four yearly boosters you can actually skip the fifth year and have the next booster at the sixth or seventh year.
Probably I won't skip two years in a row, but I would have a booster every second year.
For an outdoor cat it's a totally different matter, and the vaccination and yearly booster would include FeLV.
