New user - adopted two cats

Hello everyone! I am new to the fourm and hope that I am posting correctly.
I am needing some advice regarding adopting two kittens and what is of expected behaviour, thank you in advance for reading my scenario below
I have recently adopted two cats (one 5 month - Charlie, the other 3 month - Hani) on the same day, they are kittens from different litters and have never met before. What happened was, we went adopting for one and ended up choosing two!
I read online regarding introduction of cats, the the majority tend to suggest that because they are both kittens, and that there is no initial resident cat, it is ok to introduce them without having the scent introduction etc.
Initially Charlie would hiss and yowl at the sight of Hani, and it was most disheartening! Hani was very curious about Charlie regardless, and didn't seem to care for personal space. This continued for about a day or two, but both kittens were fine with me and purr whenever they are cuddled/kissed/patted.
A few days have passed now, and the hissing has reduced significantly. In fact, I think Charlie only hissed once today!
Charlie is still distant toward Hani, but occasionally he does stalk and runs up to Hani. It seems that at times, Charlie still arches his back and does the crab walk when Hani approaches him.
I was just wondering whether this is normal? Both kittens have not yet had a full play session together, and at times Charlie still shows signs that he feels threatened. But if the hissing has reduced and he no longer swipes at Hani, is that a sign of progression?
I have read lots of instances in the case of resident cats with new kittens, but I'm not sure if it is different when it comes to adopting 2 entirely new kittens on the same day. Sorry if this is a silly question! I also have another question regarding fleas, but I will leave that for another post
Thank you
