She's gone

Post by Churchillsmom1 »

My baby girl was put to sleep last night, I'm completely heartbroken
She came in to me during the day, licked my hand and gave me a tiny meow then went and lay back down as though she was telling me it was ok and she was ready

I'm so sorry, your poor little girl. It was the kindest thing - I absolutely think you're right - she was telling you she didn't want to take any more. She is at peace now and you gave her a happy loved life. She will always be in your heart. xxx

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sadly as cats are so good at hiding illness, with cancer quite often the condition is very advanced by the time it's diagnosed, and the end can come quickly. It sounds like she was ready to go, and you did the kindest possible thing for her, giving her a dignified end to a life full of love with you, although I know it doesn't feel like this at the time. Remember that it 's the years before that matter most, not that final minutes. Take care.
