Advice pls

Hi

I have two cats and this week I have given them both flea and worm treatment, and on the advice given the doses were given at least 48 hours apart. They both had a Droncit type spot on Monday and on Thursday both had Advocate. The next day one of them was not right. Subdued and wont eat which is very very unusual. I spoke to the vet this morning and asked if this could be some kind of reaction. The receptionist was a bit vague and mentioned they might scratch or rub. Not the case. Has anyone experienced this and if so how long did it last? Trying to rule out all possibilities before wasting the vets valuable!!! time. Thanks in advance.

Debbie

I think if it has gone on for several days I would ask to speak to the vet - it could be a reaction, or it could be purely coincidental, but you know your cat best and know what is normal for them. These things always seem to happen on Bank Holidays...

I always use a combined flea and worm treatment - dosing Tilly once month is bad enough! Sometimes she is a bit subdued next day, she is usually back to normal after 24 hours.

If you are not happy or at all concerned see the vet. Our Purdy is just getting over a bad reaction to Frontline. She lost a thumbnail size piece of fur and skin leaving a nasty scab. Must have been a bad lot, as Billy and Bob have rough patches between their shoulder blades, but nothing as bad.

The receptionist is not the expert! See the vet.
