My 2 year old male cat just sprayed my 13 year old daughter. Why in the world would he do that????

It's likely that something spooked him - maybe even something outside. Cats can spray as a result of stress. Has he done it again since posting? If not, it may be a one off as a result of some nasty experience. Try not to get cross with him, it will only stress him more, and make matters worse.

She may have had a hostile cat's scent on her.

I am inclined to agree. Could something have spooked him? Any sudden changes at home or in area?
