Blood Scabs

Post by caseeuhj »

My Charlie girl just turned one year old last month. Lately she’s been having some pretty bad scabs below her ears and around her neck. I’ve attached a picture of the worst one which is her ear but she doesn’t seem bothered because she allowed me to touch it and feel around. It’s hard, like a regular scab. Unsure if it’s just from her scratching because I did miss a week of clipping her nails or something else.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

That's not caused by unclipped claws, if anything a rough edge on a badly clipped claw might scrape the skin but not a natural claw having a normal scratch. Looks more like she has some serious itching and been scratching a lot, to me. No fleas or mites? Possible skin condition or allergy? Does she have any of these scabs near her tail?
