SNEEZING FITS WITH BLOOD IN OLD CAT - ADVICE?

Hi

Can anyone advise or experienced same, please.

My 22 year old cat has been sneezing a lot over the last 6 months or so. No other illness signs. She is at stage 3 kidney disease which is controlled with diet and blood pressure tablets.

Over last week she has progressed to having sneezing fits of blood. Usually every day, sometimes twice. Appears from just one nostril.

Went to vet last Friday and he did all the usual basic tests. Could see no external signs of swollen face, bad tooth etc. He said that because of her age ge was loath to put her under GA to do x rays and more exploratory procedures. His advice was at this stage to watch and see how it goes. He did mention trialling antibiotics.

Having just now had another sneezing fit with blood splattering everywhere, I am increasingly concerned as to what is best to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Blood pressure can be a cause of bloody sneezing but so can a lot of things from rodent poisoning to various illnesses. When you say the vet has done the usual tests, have you had any blood tests?

She has a check at vets every 2-3 months, and bloods were done last week. Nothing there indicative. The HBP is now under control for last few months after she started on the meds for. She doesn't go out.
