Tapeworm!!!!

Post by Thunderkit »

The other day i noticed hard rice like bits round my cats tail. I thought oh god I hope he’s not got worms - then decided it was just bits of a bush he’d been in.

Today my younger cat vomited up a tapeworm.

I’m traumatised! And horrified! How do I treat? I’d run out of dewormer this time round and hadn’t treated them I feel terrible! They’ve been bringing a few mice in which is what will have caused it.

I’m going to deep clean everything - but please tell me it’s nothing really to worry about????? Will be looking for a good wormer tomorrow first thing can anyone advise?

My poor kitties :-(

Extremely common in cats who hunt, and not really anything to worry about. Much easier to deal with than fleas! Just get a good wormer and treat according to the instructions - you can get it online without a prescription if you are avoiding shops and offices, and a few days delay won't make any difference. I would ask your vet for recommendations, though, as some over the counter medications are not very effective,

Thank you! They’re all treated now and much happier, no traces of the vile things! Phew!

Won’t be forgetting regular wormings in a hurry!!!
