2 weeks after spay

Hi all,

I just had my cat spayed 2 weeks ago, I took the cone off today and shes licking the area. does this look ok and healed to the point where she cant do damage? thanks!

Stitches normally take 10 days to heal, give or take, so after 2 weeks the wound should be fully healed. It's likely she is licking and cleaning simply because she feels it and hasn't been able to get to it all this time.

I presume the vet told you they were dissolving stitches and you don't have to go back and have them removed?

if there was any infection there would probably be a smelly discharge - a magnifying glass and your own nose might be useful
