Dark spots on tongue
I noticed today my cat (2yo M) has a dark spot on his tongue. I’ve made an appointment at the vet (the earliest was next Monday) but was hoping to get some advice/suggestions as to what it may be? TIA

Our male cat had dark spots on his lips, which turned out to be pigment, as diagnosed by the vet we go to. Although our cat is mainly red/orange, he has many black hairs all over his body.
There is a book written by a vet. It is about Chinese Medicine for Dogs and Cats, by Cheryl Schwartz, DVM. She says the tongue can be an indication of the internal health of a cat. She doesn't mention spots though; only the overall coating of the tongue and what the coatings mean.
