New Kitten settling issues

Post by Orrfio »

Hello,

I am brand new to this forum!

I have a new kitten, picked him up from the breeder on Saturday he is 12 weeks old. He is gorgeous. We haven't had a cat in years but I grew up with cats and kittens.

My children at 12 and 9 I felt were old enough to take some responsibility and it felt like the right time. This is not a rushed decision.

He appears to be well (getting him checked over on monday) he is eating, sleeping and pooping. He is so affectionate

However. He will not stop crying! If he isnt sleeping, eating or being played with he is crying and its driving me crazy. Actually crazy isn't right it makes me feel sad. We are working from home and he is with people a lot. All day but it doesn't seem.to matter even if we are with him he just wails.

Feeling a bit sad about it all. The kids adore him but they are also finding it upsetting as stupid as it sounds it sounds sad.

Any thoughts. Is it just early days?

I had the same. I was very sad, but we loved him very much. Everything is fine now

Thanks for replying. My son asked me yesterday if he just doesn't want to be here. We give him heaps of love and he will settle and sit on us for hours just in-between.
