Hello I have a Burmese cat Dexter he is nearly 8 he has always sat on me and given me cuddles but for some reason the last say 5 days he’s not going near me won’t sit on me and give me cuddles every time I go to stroke him he just moves away
I’ve not knowingly done anything different to upset him but this is really upsetting me a lot now that he’s suddenly not coming to me. Can anyone give me advice on this please? Don’t know what to do as he still gives my husband cuddles but suddenly doesn’t go near me it’s breaking my heart

Is there any possibility you could be pregnant, or sick, or anything that could alter your body chemistry?

Not pregnant but have had ear infection and jaw problem

Cats can sometimes pick up such subtle changes in our chemistry by changes in our scent. Some love the changes, particularly with pregnancy, and some "indicate" by becoming obsessed, and others can sometimes avoid. It's the only thing I could think of, if you haven't done anything to upset him, is that maybe Dexter is picking up on something.

Has nothing else at all changed about his behaviour, no changes in his routine, going out, sleeping times or places, nothing at all?

No changes in Dexter routine going out eating etc all still the same
Upsetting me so much him not coming near me though don’t know what to do
