NORTH EAST ENGLAND Spaying 2 boys (1 who seems poorly)

Post by Chat Noir »

Hi all.
Haven't been on here for a while.
New situation is related to two unneutered males in our neighbourhood.
(they look SO alike, we did not realised that they were two cats until last month)

So. Cat 1 used to live next door. He's quite flighty. New baby meant he effectively moved out (they are not experienced with cats but are trying hard to get him in and look after him) He likes them but not the loud baby 😂
Cat 2 used to live elsewhere until his owner kicked him out. He's been homeless since.

Both are v aggressive with cats (our own cat needed an operation after a fight with cat 2).
So we can't take either in but we close off kitchen and let them have shelter and food when possible.

Next door want to get cat 1 neutered but as he is flighty, they can't keep fixed vet appt. Cat 1 seems to have a poorly paw and significant weight loss too(between us and next door, he gets 6 pouches per day and always seems starving) . Their vet seems v unsympathetic.
Cat 2 is scared of people but tolerates us giving him food. His exowner is uninterested.

My query is... Are there any services IN NE England that could capture, spay, immunise and treat these two boys? We will pay for both (unless Cat 1's owners want to do so for him, ofc). We are very worried about both boys and we have called a few shelters, to no avail 😔

If you haven’t already seen Cat Chat’s 'Neutering - Information' page, the following link might be useful for you:
