I hope that is the case. The good news is OH finally sent me a FB message (In Germany for a meeting today) saying the name has finally been decided on. KASPER - it has to be the Danish spelling

The slightly worrying thing is he came in last night, but had disappeared by the time I got up and I haven't seen him since. For some that might mean nothing, but I'm not used to having wandering cats.

Well I have up for over 12 hours now and no sign. How do you advertise a cat as lost and found at the same time?

Still hoping. I guess it is possible he has a home and is there.

Good question and I am now wondering myself.

I am in the lower ground floor and hear kitty footsteps coming down the stairs from the ground floor - I assumed it was Ingrid, but it was Kasper

He went outside and had a good feed from the two bowls of dry. He then followed me in with Dom and is now eating a bowl of chicken.

Surely he wouldn't have been in hiding all day? - he seems to active for that. He is never still - also I searched the house twice. It is over 4 floors, but by no means a huge house. I was even checking up chimneys

I was sniffing his fur - as I always do as I thought I might get an idea if he was in someone's house when he disappears.

I was up in the attic bedroom having a doze with Ingrid between about 6pm and 7.30pm - I can only assume he came back in the house then. He didn't come downstairs until 10 - 15 minutes ago though.

I have a false chimney breast and both Spike and Osiris ( his brother) leap up into the void above ,and then scamper around, many times i have visions of them falling down behind brickwork.

Had heard of one that was 'lost' only to have been in the TV cabinet the whole time, do you have loose bath panelling he could have got behind and been on an adventure?.

I wonder where Kasper had been.

I am baffled. The day we moved into this house, over 10 years ago, one of the cats disappeared. We were hunting high & low and eventually saw a tail hanging down from a chimney - I have a photo somewhere. Clapton was covered in soot - no sign of any on Kasper

They can get where water can't. They remind me of my snakes, who love to cram themselves into hides so small that you'd think the snake would get pins and needles. Imagine a fat 3'+ royal python in an old wine box. Security maybe.

I remember the awful afternoon when a pair of kittens went missing. Couldn't find them ANYWHERE in the house and they were too tiny to go out, always supposing I'd let even older kittens out unsupervised, which I wouldn't. But they were. In the house. Or rather in the fridge. Not the cold part of the fridge but you know the bit at the back, at the bottom, where there's a little gap and it was Nice And Warm in there, they said, and they were Comfortable, having a Nice Snooze and What A Fuss About Nothing...

I am determined to find his hidey hole. He is in the house now, but no idea where

Even pre-neuter, he seems to like being inside. He loves spending the evening outside, chasing and eating moths

Him and Ingrid are spending a lot of time chasing each other all over the house - she screams when he chases her, but 2 seconds later, she is after him

Put his feet in a bowl of flour, then follow the footsteps! wash well afterwards with lots of water or he will end up with 'paste glue' Our Spike stood on some wet white paint , it just looked like a ghostly cat had walked all over the patio,they are still there as it was gloss !

failing that attach a camcorder to his little head, probably be somewhere like..have you drawers under any of the beds?

Many years ago we took a rare trip away for a few days and got my step son to pop in and feed the cats. When we got home, he admitted that he'd not seen my little Spook since we left ..... and indeed we searched everywhere (quickly done in a 2 room flat!) and there was no sign of her. A couple of hours later I was calling out of the window when I heard the tiniest squeak, which I eventually traced to behind the kitchen cabinets - it turned out that she had squeezed behind them, and got through the air vent into the bricked-up chimney! Thankfully, she was very much a mummy's girl and came out to me when she could hear me close to the cabinet, and we made darned sure we blocked it up properly after that.

Spook was my constant companion for 17 years, we had a special bond similar to the one I have with Daz now. She was a quirky little cat, and often slept like this!

It made me so happy to read that - huh, kids ay!

She looks like Purdy, who is a real daddy's girl and often sleeps on OH's head. He says it's like wearing a Davy Crocket hat!

They were sharing a dish tonight. Just a quick phone shot - they were eating from the dish at the same time. Not bad for day 3 - Kylie however, chases either of them if they get too close!

Oh and we found the hiding place! - there is a little oriel window in the attic bathroom and the blind is kept down - he lies down up there

Dom doesn't really eat that much. He really must have a slow metabolism.

PS - I have discovered Kasper's other hidey-hole. There is a Clavinova with a sofa backing onto it in the dining room. I discovered him in the little gap between them this morning after searching the house a couple of times. I found him there again in the afternoon

Kasper is booked in for the snip tomorrow. CP are supplying a voucher. New policy is that they issue a voucher if a finder decides to keep a stray.

Hopefully is is young enough for the 'kitten pack' (1st & 2nd vaccs, chip and one dose of Advocate) - I am going to book his in for 1st vaccs next week.

Dom's ears make him look a little disgruntled, was Kasper being a little over boisterous before, he looks like he will get on with everybody, what a friendly little cat, can see why you already love him.

I won't show my ignorance as to what a Clavinova is ... so i admit i did look it up...

Our boy is next door being neutered. I am sure he will be fine, but still nervous about it.

It never gets any better does it? You can't explain to them that they'll be back home soon, and then you've got the hours of waiting while he's out for the count/sleepy. I think it's far worse for the owner than it is for the cat but that's no comfort; we all feel tremendously guilty and anxious about putting them through this.

In a few hours he'll be back with you; he'll notice his backside's sore but unlike human patients he won't be thinking 'oh me operation!' He'll eat a good meal and in a few days he'll have forgotten about it and be back to chasing Ingrid.

But we always put ourselves through hell every time, waiting for that phone call; I feel for you and him and will be eager to hear he's back home with you, paws crossed (though I'm sure they don't need to be!)

He is fine

I can pick him up in about 10 minutes. They chipped him while he was under and are going to do 1st vaccinations now.

I think I will take him up to the attic bedroom away from his playmate and we can have a bit of quality time (AKA as a nap) while he recovers

Sorry Helen, I tried using a Facebook link. For some reason, iPhoto is losing my photos. I'm not at all tech savvy but opened a Google account to back photos up to. I think I have finally worked out how to link to them.

Anyway, you would never know that he had anything done. Desite being told to only give him the sensitive pouch that evening, he refused it an opted for chicken, fish and various other foods - both his own, Ingrid's and Dom's
