I am struggling to get help for a beautiful stray cat it seems no one will even look at him unless I was to be on benefits and pay for his treatment or if I paid full price for his treatments and have him registered in my name. I am not on benefits but also can not afford the full price fees.
Is it meant to be this hard to have a cat just looked at or to find any help for him?? If I was on a ground floor I'd gladly take the big guy in.
So far I'm on Woodgreens waiting list but I still need to find a way for him to have a health check. ... any ideas??

Hi and welcome and good on you for caring for this guy.
Has he got any obvious health problems? If not then his immediate need is food and shelter; I'm assuming you're feeding him and he'll know where to go for shelter - not ideal but a full belly will be a help until the rescue can take him in.
However, I'm certain that you can take him to a vet to get a possible microchip checked out - for free. (If not someone please correct me.) If he is chipped and they can trace his owner - who may well be looking for him - then his troubles (and yours) will be over.
If not there are people on here who are very knowledgeable about shelters/contacts re shelters and may be able to direct you to somewhere which can help sooner.
I do hope everything works out ok - good luck

Thank you for looking out for this kitty.
Getting him checked for a microchip is a very good idea, but if he's not chipped don't leave him at the vets because it has been known for a certain large charity to pay vets to put stray cats down. Tell the vet that he's on Woodgreen's waiting list and that you'll look after him in the meantime.
