Long time no post - I've been very busy recently (getting married in 9 weeks)
For those of you that remember me, I am happy to report that our two little furry monsters Tiki and Boo are now absolutely the best of friends after living together for over a year. They both still very much have their differences - Boo is still a delicate little fuss pot and Tiki is an unequivocal bruiser (she's known as the juggernaut) but they happily eat, sleep and play together....hurrah!
Now as we are gluttons for punishment we've been thinking about adding a puppy to our brood - we're both well experienced in integrating existing cats together and socialising dogs - but neither of us have ever tried to establish a cat/dog household.
We are planning carefully - looking at getting the puppy a few months after the wedding to give the house time to settle, thinking about a Labrador as we both know the breed - we'll only be looking at puppies raised on farms or small holdings where they have experience with small animals and cats and won't get any pup where we haven't seen/visited the parents. We know about crate and leash training but can anyone else offer any helpful suggestions? Has anyone had any particularly good success stories they can share?
Thanks in advance and good to be back
