Defeated by bread

So I put half a packet of bread on a stool. This is a stool Whisper usually uses to get to a spot she likes to sit in. The bread is on half the stool, not all of it, so plenty of room. There are multiple other options for jumping up to her spot without using the stool - my lap, a chair, etc. But Whisper is utterly defeated until I assist her.
I couldn't help but think of Goobbee's rescued cat Allee, who at exactly the same age was successfully fending for herself in a forest with three kittens! Whisper, you are useless.
