Advice Welcome! Referred 60 miles away in lockdown and no car...

My kitty has been diagnosed with pancreatitis but after a few weeks of her special diet, her lipase levels are still super high so she’s been referred to a specialist for an ultrasound (my vets have a machine but are unable to do it with it being so small and awkward). The specialists are 60 miles away (apparently the nearest available), my car isn’t working and I’m unable to get it fixed, I’m in a bubble with elderly parents who don’t drive and I can’t afford £120 taxis for each day I’m there (or car hire as I don’t have the deposit needed)... but I need Lucy to go ASAP so she can get properly diagnosed and treated. I have the highest level of pet insurance cover with Argos but they said that travel to and from referrals isn’t included. Does anyone have any experience of this in lockdown? If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it... As a side note, Lucy is terrified of leaving the house, goes mental in a carrier and pees and poops, so a train or bus is not an option!

Where do you live? Perhaps one of the cat charities may know of someone prepared to drive Lucy.

I used an animal courier to take a cat 150 miles for specialist treatment - a big advantage was that the van had an inner caged area much bigger than a carrier with room for a bed and litter tray

I don't know your financial situation beyond what you have said, but is taking out a new credit card a feasible option for you? if you are accepted the money would be in your account very quickly

I don't know whether this will be any help or not, but do you give your kitty milk? My Tilly had several bad bouts of pancreatitis, but none since I stopped letting her have milk.
