Temp home for cat for an owner in rehab

Post by Lisa Kirkham »

Hi I am a support worker and one of my service users may be going into a rehab but they do not take cats. Does anyone know of where a cat could be fostered for a few months in the Hartlepool/Durham area? My service user is not working and would not be able to pay for anything but food for the cat.

Have you tried the Cinnamon Trust? it sounds the sort of situation they might be able to help with.

The following organisations might be able to provide help or advice:

The Cinnamon Trust, as mentioned above, who might be able to provide pet fostering services: https://cinnamon.org.uk

People & Pets Advocates (PAPAS), who can sometimes arrange short-term foster care, although it may depend on whether they have foster carers in your area: http://www.papas.org.uk/about.html

Your local rescue and rehoming organisations, whose details can be found here: https://www.catchat.org/shelters

You could also email Cat Chat’s Help Desk for further advice: cat.advice (at) catchat.org

Hope that helps.
