Advice on introducing male cats?

I just moved into a new house that comes with an outside male cat. I am moving in with my 1 year old male cat who is strictly an indoor cat. The outdoor cat is very territorial and I am worried that if they do interact (if a door gets left open) my indoor cat will end up getting badly hurt. Does anyone have any advise or recommendations for introducing them?
