Potential Christmas dilemma, any advice please?

Hi everyone,
I have a potential problem this Christmas regarding my step son visiting and staying at our home with their 18 month year old Labrador, over a few days during the festive period. The thing I'm concerned about is that I have a 11 year old cat, I don't think she is used to dogs (I adopted her 2 years ago from an animal shelter) , they haven't been introduced. I am worried that she will be stressed out and I am wondering if she would be better off in a cattery, although that can be stressful in itself. Is there any way I can safely introduce them? Or would it be out of the question. Could anyone please advise me what to do. I love my cat dearly ( especially after losing my own close family), and I am concerned about her and how she will cope
Thank you ..
