Hand rearing premie kittens

Post by Downunder »

Hi
I've got 5 x 2 day old premie rejected kittens from a mum with severe catflu.
The kittens haven't had any colostrum or any of mum's milk due to mum not producing anything.
They are all feeding ok until my last feed when K5 refused feed. I haven't got this little one too defecate on toileting yet so wondering if it could be constipated???? That being said there has been meconium passed in the incubator between feeds. So it's possible this kitten has passed faeces between feeds. I know it's only 1 feed refused but in these tiny guys that's huge because they just can't afford to miss feeds! This one weighs 86gms. The tiniest one is currently 81gms and the biggest is now 96gms. A couple haven't increased weight over last 2 feeds and 1 has lost 1gm. Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated 🥰
