Oh gosh I am shocked and saddened!
It’s been such a useful place to me and Mama Cat (who was my partner, until she passed away)
I will miss looking in and posting.
Thanks for everything.

Ohhh Noo :(
Gutted to be reading this update.. Completely understand you have to do what you have to do.. Man I will miss it.. It's always one of the first sites I check on in the morning. Been here since I found it in 2017, been a valuable resource and sounding board..

It’s the end of an era! My first post was in 2008! I stopped posting for a while and then re-joined, which is why you have me down as having joined more recently but I’ve been using the forum for a long, long time so this is really sad for me. Thanks for everything though, it’s been such a great resource. And thank you and goodbye to Mollycat, RuthB, Kay, fjm, Papacat and all the other people who’s posts I have enjoyed reading over the years and who’s advice has helped both me and my furry friends.

Oh No, Why?

I really love this forum it has been a great place to talk about things. Everyone here has been so friendly and understanding, I'm going to miss you all.

Is there an alternative site that people frequent?

Oh no! I came here as a refugee from another rather judgemental forum and have loved getting to know members and cats. It's my first stop in the mornings. CC will be very much missed.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the lovely comments. It seems like the end of an era for us here too! We've run a forum in one way or another since 2001, and had many changes over the years. There is such a lot of good information and advice on here, hence the decision to leave it as a 'read-only' resource.

Thanks Amerififer for the alternative cat forum suggestion of 'catforum.com' - since it will be helpful to have recommendations for alternative cat forums, we are more than happy for links to be posted here. So the first suggestion is: https://www.catforum.com

If anyone else has suggestions of cat forums that they know and trust, please post here!

Thank you!
Love from Yogi Cat (and his slaves!)

I post on Purrs in our Hearts, set up by an ex CC member. I have to say this news has brought a tear to my eye, I've been on here from the very early days

I shall miss the Forum - it was a huge help when Pippin was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and Tilly with CKD, and I have learned a lot here.

Just curious

Registered with Purrs in our hearts. Still waiting for account to be approved over 24 hours later. Anyone in the group have any idea how long it takes for the admin there to approve?
Ta much..

I've just put in a registration request so I'll see how long that takes as well.

It could be they are getting high number of requests at the moment

Purrs has been very inactive for quite a while, so admin may only check in infrequently - hopefully a mass migration from here will bring it to life again

Thank you, I hope you don't have to do this for everyone.

I was prepared to wait assuming they would get around to it when they had time.

I wonder if something went wrong when you signed up Ruth, as I signed up after you did and had my membership confirmed within 24 hrs. If Booktigger’s message to admin doesn’t solve the issue, try signing up again from scratch.
