How do you know when it is time?

How do I know when it is time to euthanise my baby boy Henry?

He was diagnosed with the horrendous FIP on Monday. Since then he has been lethargic, not really eating anything and not acting how he normally would. Hiding behind the couch and creeping away from us. Last night I slept downstairs in case he passed in the night.

This morning he is prancing about and scoffed slices of fresh chicken for his breakfast. The vet advised me on Monday just to love him and spoil him and that is what he will have until it is his time. His time seems far too short given he was only 1 last month.

My biggest fear is not knowing when it is his time. Last night I thought I would have to make the difficult decision today but he seems to be a little better. I have spent my morning reading website after website on FIP and euthanisia. I would rather euthanise an hour too ealry than risk doing it an hour too late. Please help me. I am heartbroken.

I haven't yet been in this situation but I know one day it will come, from what I read you just know when they've had enough, be guided by your vet and how your boy is in himself. As you say better a day too early, than a day too late. A truly horrendous disease.

Thinking of you and your boy x

I've posted on your other thread in health and behaviour, but I agree with Greenkitty and you're in my thought too. xx
