Stray cat

Post by PandaCookie »

Any suggestions.

Took a stray that had been coming into where I work to the vet to be scanned. Not chipped. Too late to take him to the local shelter so into the spare room he went.
Next day after work contacted the shelter who said the wouldn't take him. Tried some more and no go for any if them.

He is still in the spare room.

I can't keep him as I have two already.

I've offered to pay for him to be neutered.

It is my day off tomorrow so will try some more organisations.

Any suggestions as to what to do. Keeping him friendly as he is when not biting my arm, is not an option. (Humping I should say)

Hi, well done for trying to sort this cat, he's lovely. I can only tell you my own experience with two strays we adopted in the end when no shelters could take them. If he'll let you, put a paper collar on him with your details to see if he has an owner out there, and post his picture on the lost and found sites on here, Animal Search and My Moggy etc put his photo in you local newsagent etc. call the local shelters to register him as a found cat too. Cats protection let me have neutering vouchers to get them 'done' which was helpful. All I was told was to not feed them and let them go which of course I didn't! If the paper collar is still on after a day I would start giving him some food as he will be getting hungry. My two started off in our shed and porch for shelter before graduating into the house! Anyway, good luck and hope he can find somewhere to go if you can't keep him. :)

Update

He has had the chop and is now chipped.

Oh and he has found a home. Someone at work has said they will take him.

I'm keeping him tonight while he recovers from his op. But tomorrow my best-est colleague will be taking him home.
