Hi everyone, I'm new here

Post by KittyKat »

Hellooo, from West Sussex, I'm new and this is my first post on the forum. This is Mog my tortie cat, she's just over a year old and she's part Russian blue and part unknown ;) She's definitely a naughty tortie at times and loves her cuddles too. Look forward to talking to other cat lovers and looking at all the cute cat and kitten pictures x

Hello there.

Welcome to the forum. Mog is beautiful.

I share my home with Dora (my avatar) who is my world. She's also a wonderfully naughty Tortie with tonnes of catitude and an enormous zest for life. I've had her since she was 12.5 weeks old and she's now 6.

You'll find the site is very informative with a wealth of experienced cat people.

Oooh Kittykat, your girl is beautiful! What a little stunner with her beauty spot!

Val is right, this is a very addictive site and I have learned so much from it and made good friends. I am mummy to 18 year old Pepsi, 10 year old Lou Lou and 7 year old Edgar, all rescue cats with big personalities who keep me on my toes!

Do tell us more about Mog and how she came to live with you.

Hello Kittycat and Mog. Welcome to CC. What a very pretty kitty you have.

I'm mummy to 2 boys, Bobby and Tom and housekeeper to 3 girls, Willow, Purdy and Grace. :D

I joined when I found out baby Bobby was FIV+. Everyone was so kind and I found out the FIV is not the death sentence I was led to believe. You will make good friends here.

Hello and welcome! Mog is indeed a very pretty cat, that's a lovely pic. :)

I have four permanent residents, at the moment, and this year I started fostering for my local rescue.

Welcome :D What a gorgeous girl your Mog is, beautiful.

I'm slave to six cats; Abbie and Jamie two tortie (one brindle and one calico) sisters who share their home with Monty, Harry, Ava and Henry.

This is a lovely friendly forum with lots of good advice or just being there when you need someone to understand that it's not 'just a cat' ;)

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for your lovely replies, I really enjoyed reading them and looking at all your beautiful kitties. I feel very warmly welcomed to the forum :D

I got Mog from someone I knew whose cat had had kittens, she was only 7 weeks old when I got her as the mum-cat was not really interested in her kittens. So she was tiny! After a few weeks she put on some weight and she was part of the family and a good little buddy. She is a very vocal cat and has a vast range of noises she makes, the usual miaows, chirps, grelim frustration noises and the household favourite, that noise they make when they're behind a window and there's a pigeon or something outside, I heard someone describe it as oo-wak-wak! Lol.

Hello :) I'm new too, lovely to meet you all.

My boys (brothers) are in my profile photo (about 4 months old at the time) but turned a year old at the beginning of October. They went into 'Hotel Catteria' a couple of weeks ago while we wait for a house sale to go through and we're staying with parents. My worries about that situation is what brought me here and to get some advice but now I can't stop reading everyones posts and looking at everyones pictures!

It's been a busy first year for Lenny (with the white bits) as he has had an ongoing skin allergy on his paw and lip that has been coming and going since we got him and the vets are still unsure what it is. Every time they drop his steroids down it comes back, but touch wood it hasn't this time and we can get a proper allergy test done, but he cant until it's been completely clear for a month. So it's been a first year of fortnightly vet appointments, biopsies, meds, cones, special food (thankfully they were insured from day one) but hopefully the end is in sight and a less busy second year awaits.

Sorry to hijack your post!

Only a few thousand!

I tried to upload an image via Imgur and it said 'It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.' :(

What is the best way?

I've found free to use 'picresize' very good. If I can follow it, anyone can.

I get the same if I try to post links from Photobucket, even when I know the image has been resized correctly - I must admit, I just gave up and always post direct links like this:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d154/ ... 030407.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(That's my Basil, by the way!)

Oh. I use Imgur on other forums which works fine. Not sure why the size matters if the image is being hosted from a different website.

Hi Andy, nope I don't understand it either! Sometimes I'm trying to link to a pic on Photobucket that I've already loaded elsewhere on the Cat Chat forum (on our rescue's homing pages) so I absolutely KNOW that the pic is the right size, but this forum doesn't like the image link codes. As you say, the image links work fine on other forums. It's only the direct links that I can get to work here.
