Not sure Kay - early days really. Most of the time Laz is relaxed around him, but othertimes, such as if they pass one another, he gets nervous. Kylie passed him without growling for the first time today.

If he stays, I am going to ask CP about homing the tortie as she is always outside and causes a lot of friction. The owner, despite saying he will deal with his 2 cats, seems to have done nothing. One of them seems to have returned home and comes over to cadge the odd bit of food, but the other is there nearly all the time still.

He does look like a nice laid-back pussycat. And one that chose wisely and fell on his feet! :D

I forgot to post on here that Domino is here to stay! :)

We just need to address a coupleof things. He has stopped scratching me, but still attacks feet & ankles when you try to pass him. I wonder if he was previously kicked or at least, teased.

The other one is whenever one of us opens the back door, he parks himself on the mat so we can't close the door - not good with the cold weather! :)

Not getting any practical help from CP regarding the tortie. I need to speak to the owner again and tell him he needs to contact CP himself if he doesn't intend taking her. OH is worried about me contacting the RSPCA in case they PTS her. I think it is unlikely, but have heard so many stories about them.

I'm glad he's here to stay.

Re the feet; I assume there are tell tell signs of him doing it or is it a surprise attack? If the first then again just stop walking and a firm No Domino may hopefully get through to him. Then have something to hand to distract him with (treats, toys?) But if they are surprise attacks would you consider a gentle squirt of water from a small syringe only when he's actually 'attacking' the ankles; followed by a stern no?

As for the mat - could you get another mat and put that by the front door and the one he's sitting on next to the door? See if that works?

What is he like when it comes to picking him up?

congratulations on your newest family member, Mark

Tosker does that at the back door too, and has learnt that a firm 'In or Out' is fairly swiftly followed by hand to help him on his way if he doesn't move (usually followed by an equally swift re-entry via the cat flap, but at least I've got the door closed by then)

Congrats, Mark - I'm so glad he's staying! :D

I suspect the attacking behaviour will lessen as time goes on and he settles anyway, but I do hope you get it sorted. xx

I'm hoping the attacking will lessen :)

I am guessing the neuter, combined with him settling in will be enough. He basically does it any tine I try to pass him - but it happens a lot as he follows me everywhere! :)

He did it in front of Kylie and she told him off! :)

See how big he is (or how tiny Laz looks now)

Oh that is sooo annoying, Gracie does it ALL the time! She does it with the windows too. She gets her big bum in the way and won't budge for anything.

Thanks Julia :)

He was chipped today. The nurse estimated him to be 5 years old. He has one top fang missing and the other is broken. I asked if he needs it out - she said no as it isn't broken enough to cause pain - we should just keep and eyeon it and watch that he isn't having problems eating.
