A Christmas visitor

About 6 months ago we had a very beautiful black cat come around claiming to be hungry and homeless (btw - very well fed if this were to be true). We were taken in and all ready to adopt until we did a last chance “Is this your cat?” leaflet drop. We got a phone call from the irate owner who calmed down quickly, confirmed he was far from homeless (and we were not the first to be taken in) and asked us not to feed him anymore so he’d stop wandering. We agreed and have stopped feeding him, but he still tries to break in and steal our cat’s food.

Tonight we got home after visiting family. I let our cats out briefly then locked the back door. When I heard some incessant mewing I thought I’d accidentally locked out Twitch. When I opened the door BC (i.e. Basement Cat) sprang from the darkness looking very eager. He, again, was trying to look like he didn't have a family. However, this time the game was up, for he had a new collar – covered in tinsel. He was an extremely festive cat. So, in the spirit of the season, I put a plate of biscuits outside and said “Merry Christmas”. He was very pleased with his gift.

Happy Christmas everyone!
