The Cat Mate is the one I use. It seems to be pretty good, had it 3 years no problems.

Awww thanks mr frisky and Alice. I scrolled through and found my old post asking about this and yes the cat mate was recommended so ive ordered it from Amazon. Mind you knowing my luck Theo will be frightened of it. Hes still a very scaredy cat. Scared of, people, birds, rain, noise, and snow which we showed him today.

Haha hopefully he won't be scared of it :) Mine love it.. I have the Cat Mate too. I tried another brand after my first Cat Mate finally gave up (after years of use) but it was so inferior I threw it out and got another Cat Mate again. You won't be disappointed :)

I've also got the cat mate and it's fab. Easy to clean and maintain. Just remember to every so often clean the inside of the pump as well, not just the outside.

it really is very quiet so hopefully Theo will soon be using it

Good luck!

Yep I've got the Cat Mate too, it's definitely encouraged my guys to drink more. It's so quiet you don't notice it running.

It took my guys a good couple of weeks to get used to it, a couple longer so do persevere!

Thanks greenkitty. He has had a few goes at it now. Sorry for the silly question but do I still change the water daily.

I have a Catmate for 2 cats, and change the water once a week, just topping up when necessary during the week - I use Brita filtered water as the tapwater is sometimes overly chlorinated round here

I know some people don't bother with the filter, but I find a lot of hair trapped behind it, so I change it once every two months
