It wasn't unexpected. None of these kittens had ever thrived, and it was only a matter of time and keeping them bouncy and happy for as long as they lasted. They can print organs on 3D printers now, and it has been pioneered on human patients. Maybe someday science and technology will be able to fix these cats born with dodgy organs because humans fail to spay and neuter eh? But it would be SOOOO much simpler and cheaper to just spay and neuter in the first place

I am sad, but resigned, if that makes sense. I am relieved that he seems to have died in his sleep. His sister, Rosie, had to be euthanised as she collapsed and was in pain and distress. Same end, but so much nicer when they go peacefully in a place they feel secure. He was in great form up to his death. When he didn't arrive for his warm evening meal, I knew he was either dead or dying.
