Does anyone watch My Cat from Hell on Animal Planet? Jackson seems to do amazing things with problem felines - just wondered if there was anyone in the UK who can work similar miracles? Could do with intense behavioural therapy on Daphne and Max

I obviously don't live in the UK, but I love Jackson Galaxy. I think he's a miracle worker, basically because you can't get cats to do what you want them to do for the camera like you can with many dogs, although I do wonder how they manage to get such good footage with TV cameras around. I must investigate that. Maybe they just have a fixed unobstrusive camera in each room? I know my cats, who are all reasonably well adjusted, would go hide if a bunch of cameramen and a weird tattooed bald guy with glasses stomped into my living room!

I've learned a great deal from watching My Cat from Hell, number one being to give my cats as many high spots as I can - I've moved their tree into the kitchen/dining area, and a couple of them just love having a high perch overlooking the whole living area, and I've taken taken baskets etc off the top of the fridge and am in the process of ensuring they can easily get on top of my tall fish tanks. They seem to be responding well to these small changes!

Good point about the cameras although the whole thing is obviously edited into a short airtime so maybe they're there for hours filming and the cats are used to it. I know Alfie would come out as he's very social with visitors - it's Daphne he hides from lol . We are trying a lot of the tips to get the two of them to interact without her chasing him or him hiding all the time. We bought a 3 tier tree for him so he can stay above her but so far he's only ventured onto the second stage. Here at home he has a bed on top of the tumble drier which is on top of the washer - unfortunately Daph's now discovered this and decided it's a great vantage point to watch for him coming in through the cat flap! Guess we'll just keep watching to see if we can figure out what else to do. The new series starts later this month I think.
