Cats do NOT only have sex in March. Cats have sex when they are in heat (in season). This is a female in heat. You need to get your cat spayed or you will soon be joined by kittens...
Only true feral cats have seasons - generally spring and autumn - domestic cats can come into season many times a year: "Female cats are polyestrous, which means they go into heat many times a year."
