Gingers are capable of anything - never underestimate a ginger!

I've known stud cats who have enjoyed the company of their kittens, and I once read about a male neuter who took a very tiny kitten under his care - and came into milk!

Of course the thought of, 'neutering needed, now they've had their fling,' does come to mind, but the powerful instinct for parenting in cats is indeed very beautiful, as Marla says. They put a lot of humans to shame. It's a pity we have to deprive so many of them of the experience, but that's how things are ...

Will Father share in the less romantic tasks, such as cleaning up little backsides after feeding? I expect so. I once had a large soppy Siamese (neutered) boy who liked to curl up with his mother and tiny brother, though I suspect this had a lot to do with Mother's milk (had to supervise them.) Anyway, one day Joey pinned down little Tao, and washed him. Tao did what all kittens do when a tongue stimulates their rear ends ... poor Joey! I've never seen such an expression of shock-horror on a cat's face. Whatever the Siamese is for 'Bleeaaaghhh!' - he said it!

When we first found Willow it was Rosie dog who taught us how to 'toilet' a kitten. She was very interested in Willow and wanted to snuggle her. But with Rosie weighing about 40kg (she was a BIG dog!) we didn't think it a good idea.

Dear, darling Lily had only recently been neutered, but she still adopted Bob AND fed him, amazing!
