Thinking about getting a kitten...
When would you introduce it to the current cat? After it has had all it's vaccinations?
My other cat is an outdoor cat and I don't want it to pass anything on to it.

Ideally yes.... but then saying that I got my last kitten a week before he was due his 2nd set of injections and it wasn't an issue. And again ideally - depending on where you're getting the kitten from; it shouldn't be up for adoption before 12 weeks of age by which time it hopefully would have had it's full course or have them nearly done.
I think If your resident cat is totally up to date then you'll be fine. Main thing to remember is that your kitten shouldn't be allowed outside until vaccinations are all done (and you need to wait at least a week after the last one so they're in effect) and your kitten is neutered / spayed.
