I know - I had a giggle when I saw it this morning. First thought was typical - I've just placed a huge order (delivered today) and today they're giving away something... well, I think I've got two specials this time round

KITTEN CUBE:-
If you have 2 or more kittens/lively cats to amuse -
Get 2 large cardboard boxes of similar size and slot one into another, removing any flaps to create a large hollow cube. Cut suitably sized holes in top and sides.
Let the cats loose on it.
Hours of fun chasing, wrestling, pouncing and hide and seek and costs nowt

What is it with small dark places. Georgia will get into anything. Alarmingly I found her curled up in my hand luggage bag last year as I was preparing to go and visit my sister in Ireland. " Do you have anything to declare madam"!!!

I'd forgotten about that! Our lot have a large horse-rug box (actually a real donkey jacket!) To play in at the moment. I'm getting a bit fed up with this one. I'll be glad when we get something in a smaller box.

Re: I love Zooplus latest email
it isn't just the shape of boxes though - cats love cardboard, and I find when I fold up a box ready for recycling mine think I've got them a new scratch board

Yes Kay. I don't have a record player now, but still have a record with chew marks on the cover, that my mum's cat Sukie got hold of in the 80s - she was blind, but she found cardboard quite easily

Ria
It was so sad. She suddenly went blind at around 6 months. When my mum first got her,I had moved home for a while. I moved out again and one day when I was visiting, my mum mentioned that she was clumsy and kept walking into things. I asked if she had seen a vet about it and she said Sukie had been clumsy since she was a kitten, but that it had got worse. She went to the vet and they said that by then she was totally blind. She had a good life and lived until she was 16 or so. My mum forbid anything being moved in the house and wouldn't go on holiday in all those years. Eventually she became quite arthritic being overweight didn't help.

She had them both trained - early evening was spent with my mum, who would give her a good brush - then she transferred to my dad for the rest of the evening

Re: I love Zooplus latest email
She was lovely. When my mum first got her, she was a tiny kitten. She slept on my pillow. After I left home again, whenever I visited, she would head straight upstairs and jump onto my old bed. I would kneel on the floor and she would rub faces with me for ages, purring. It was so sad that she went blind so young. She seemed happy enough though.

You never forget their little ways do you. It is a shame she went blind so young - I wonder why? I guess she didn’t know any other though having lived most her life that way.MarkB wrote:She was lovely. When my mum first got her, she was a tiny kitten. She slept on my pillow.
