Ria is two years old today. Rocky doesn't understand the fuss - his date of birth is unknown, and even the year is uncertain. But Rocky is a lap cat and Ria isn't, so Rocky gets more cuddles anyway.

Two years! I keep thinking of that cat as a kitten!

Make the most of them and their youth; it only seems like yesterday that my Emily was a young one but she's nearly 17; she spent this afternoon basking (as did I; pair of skinny old ones growing old disgracefully; I have me beer and fags, she her Thrive )

Two years! I keep thinking of that cat as a kitten!

21 months since I got her, as her breeder doesn't release kittens until they are 3 months, and have had their second vaccination. (Fine with me.)

When I adopted Rocky, he came with a long-time friend Bridie, a smaller cat, who unfortunately died 6 months after I got them. I had a big cat carrier for Rocky, and a medium one for Bridie. Bridie's carrier was fine for Ria in her first year. But last time they went to the cattery, I realised that Ria is now taller and longer than Rocky (although not as heavy - the fur is deceptive). So I had to stuff Rocky into the smaller of my two carriers. I have now bought another large carrier!
