I was hoping someone may be able to offer advice about which sort of security alarm system would be best for a new small home-based cattery.
The cattery building is being erected in just under two weeks' time. It will be a rectangular wooden building, approx 33.3m², consisting of 6 pens (5 pens for boarding and 1 pen for isolation facilities should a cat become ill). I will be licensed to board a maximum of 10 cats at any one time.
Would a pet friendly alarm system be able to cope with movement from up to 10 cats?
Are there any other cattery owners here who have successfully installed an alarm system?
I'd be very grateful if anyone could help. Thank you!

Not sure about security but wondering if you are aware that isolation pens shouldn't be in the same building in case of anything airborne

Re: Security alarm system for a small 6 pen cattery
The isolation pen is at the end of the row of pens and is completely sealed off from the other 5 pens. All the pens have solid sneeze barriers so nothing airborne can be spread. The cattery building is being manufactured by a specialist cattery manufacturer with over 40 years experience and meets all regulations and current legislation.booktigger wrote:Not sure about security but wondering if you are aware that isolation pens shouldn't be in the same building in case of anything airborne
