Photo's!

I want to post some photo's - and create an avatar, but it keeps telling me the files are too big! They are just snapshots. I have tried cropping the pictures - still not small enough.
What am I doing wrong?

It's most likely the file size, are you saving in PNG format, if so then try saving in JPEG and see if that works.

I tried to link some images earlier and had issues placing them in posts, said "couldn't detect dimensions" or something to that effect. Had no issue with uploading an avatar however,you just need to make sure it's no bigger than 135 pixels in width and height and that it is under 97kb in size.

Hi Sue. Now I am no expert but have you tried using this:

http://www.picresize.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is what I use. I normally shrink it to about 50% depending on how big the original is. Then when you're done, save it and then upload onto here. Sounds easy I know but it often takes me several attempts to get it right. Someone else will probably have a better suggestion.

Sorry if this makes no sense - as is quite likely. If this doesn't work I shall have to resort to the technical department i.e. my husband. I could PAINT a picture quicker!

Awww . Bobby is gorgeous. He's adorable. What I'd give to be able to reach in and give him a hug. He is such a brave boy. Lovely face. No wonder you find him irresistable when he wants to be picked up.

Well done with posting his pic. I have spent far too many hours trying to sort photos out to post. I'm sure if I did it everyday I'd be quicker but it does tax my brain somewhat!

my computer has a program to resize my photos. Redosing the pixels is what you need to do, for sure.

Thanks girls. I think I have finally got the hang of it. It is a bit long-winded, but I hope to get better at it and bore you rigid with photo's of 'the kids'.

He's just so handsome! There's just something about black cats.
I seem to have pictures saved all over the place - I have no idea why - this has all happened when I've tried to put them all in the one place when I've re-sized them and then can't find them when I try to post them somewhere!!
Sometimes pictures are just too taxing, as already mentioned!!
