Move along, nothing to see

So ... I just had Molly lying on my lap for 10 minutes this evening.
And??? So what? Cats sit on laps all the time and nobody makes a fuss!
She got up on the arm of the sofa and sat there for a while. I know the look so I sat back a bit, put a cushion on my lap, and patted it. She casually strolled across and stood on it, arched back and tail up, and I stroked her, then she carried on to the other arm. She repeated the whole sequence from the other side. Then she sat on the first arm looking around, yawned, washed her paws, thinking about things. Then she casually strolled over again, got on the cushion, turned her tail to me and lay down. Paws tucked under. Purring.
In six and a half years this is the third time Madam has been on my lap, and the two times before was maybe 4 years ago and she was very uncomfortable about it. I thought my partner's jaw was going to break it hit the floor that hard when he walked in and saw her there!
