Pippin health check up - doing well!

Post by fjm »

Pippin had his regular check up this morning. His weight has stayed stable for over 12 months, he has regained some of the muscle he lost due to hyperthyroidism two years ago, and his heart is steady and regular. I didn't put him through blood tests, as there have been no troubling symptoms. The vet said that for a big, nearly 17 year old cat who has had arthritis for around 10 years he is remarkably healthy!

Hi Fjm that’s great news on Pippin. HNY to you, Lilith, Alanc & Kay. Alas things haven’t started well for us here in Oz. We desperately need rain - pls send us some. Fusses to all the kidlings. Vivian & The Famous Five from Oz.

Glad Pippin is doing well.
Having just got back from a rain soaked Belfast, wish we could send our surplus rain all your way, Vivian!

Great news and well done on the arthritis. Is Pippin on any meds for it? It will soon be a year since Molly's I131 though it feels like 10!

Pip is on a smallish daily dose of Metacam, and glucosamine - the Metacam in particular makes a big difference. He is very creaky and his hips in particular are sore, but he pootles around and seems to manage to do most things he wants to and enjoy life.
