To whom it may concern

Post by papa cat »

I recently read a post from a new member in a topic about dog whistles and their effect on cats. The poster made comments that I thought outrageous and misinformed and it so incensed me that I posted a reply immediately that used some fairly 'earthy' language although the worst word was starred (***) out.

After a while I calmed down and went back to delete it but I found not only had my post been removed but the entire thread so I was unable to make amends.
I am sorry, and I wish to apologise to anyone who was offended by my post.

The poster who revived that thread was a new member and that was their first post and it was shall we say not in keeping with the tone and culture of this lovely forum. I guess you responded after me papa-cat? I didn't see your comment anyway, but if you felt strongly about it you were not alone. The person in question had a point but that was really not the way to make it. I wouldn't worry unduly about your response to it, we are all only human and if the thread is gone then it's all sorted now.

Hi everyone,

I removed the topic about dog whistles and their effect on cats from the forum as it was attracting posts that weren't in line with the spirit of the forum or our forum posting rules. Our forum posting rules (netiquette), including guidance on replying to posts and reporting unacceptable posts, can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=15

Thank you for your apology, papa cat. I'm sorry that you were unable to make amends on the thread itself but I hope you understand my reasons for removing the thread from the forum.

I read somewhere that cats have a higher range of hearing than dogs so probably similar or worse I would imagine? I don't know.
