My cat Ivo is a ginger and white 5 year old.

He make noises as he jumps or runs or when he has the zoomies running around the house, he is always making different noises. It's very cute but I don't understand the significance of it.

Also he grabs my leg if I so much as look at my mobile phone and he does not like it when I talk to anyone on the phone. Also when there is the vibrate mobile phone noise on the TV, he looks scared. Apart from that, no other noises seem to scare him.

Cats make a huge range of different noises, especially as they keep all their kitten noises for us and also have all their adult cat noises for communicating with each other. They speak 2 languages, if you like. Adult cats would never normally miaow to each other as they do to us, but they have thrips and wowls and a sharp ack and excited half-purr-half-trill or half-yowl noises that all come out with the burst of energy that is the zoomies. I guess it's a little bit like yelling Woohoo or Wahey for no reason just for the joy of running around or screaming and jumping for joy. Does he ever wander around with a toy in his mouth yowling? Or suddenly stop zooming and stand still with ears and head back and yowl? That can be a call-out to come and play with him.

Mobile phones emit light and sounds that can be really unpleasant to some animals. My dog gets up any time I pick up the house phone whether it's ringing or I am calling someone, picks up one of his teddies and hides under the table with it. It's a horrible noise to them, hard to tell where it's coming from, and we behave a certain way when we're talking to someone on the phone. For one thing, we are not giving them our attention!
